1 in 5 Children Living in Poverty in U.S.

Posted on June 25th, 2010.

USA Today released an article detailing the latest numbers and statistics on how the recession is affecting the States.  Do you know what they found? Right now 22% of children are living in poverty with inadequate access to food, health care and basic tools they need to function.  Today there are 750,000 children who have insecure food sources, who aren’t sure where their next meal is going to come from. Click here to read the article.

Such statistics can either make us immune to the need or cause us to feel hopeless.  There’s something you can do though.  Through Volunteering Hope today, you can come along side one of our Volunteer Partners and make a difference in the lives of these children.

CCA in Lewisville has lots of opportunities to help feed families and take care of the poor.

Community Storehouse in Keller & Roanoke is committed to providing as many resources and services to impoverished kids in our community.  See all the opportunities to help.

No matter what your passion is, there’s a place to plug in and Volunteer your time, effort & influence to bring hope to those hurting in our Communities.

I dare you to try!
