Achieving the Impossible
Posted on August 16th, 2011.We had so many wonderful people helping make the Back to School Event a possibility! Read what one of our volunteers had to say about this year’s event ->
Amanda,
When you ask me to tell about my experience at the Back to School event last Saturday I was excited about the opportunity. After careful thought I realized that it might be impossible for me to put such a blessing into words. So this will be my attempt to paint a picture of a day that blessed so many.
First of all, to God be the glory for the things he has done. Thank God for working in the hearts and hands of all those that were involved. The impact this event has had on mine and my family’s hearts the past two years is incredible. It’s wonderful to see so many come together with a common goal of blessing others. Moms & Dads, Grandmas & Grandpas and children of all ages working together to do the Lords work. As they worked they smiled, laughed and shed some tears in anticipation of all the smiling faces they would see on Saturday. All this done out of love. Gods type of love. This was an unselfish act by all involved meant to make other peoples lives a little bit better. Showing people God in action, not just God in a book but real believers doing real things for real people. A testimony to our faith and love for one another. The payoff Saturday was ten times greater than anticipated. IT ALWAYS IS. There were many tears of joy shed on Saturday. Tears of joy coming from those we served and those doing the serving. I really can’t explain how full your heart becomes. I’m setting here typing this with those same tears of joy in my eyes. The blessing we all received from this simple act of love is amazing.
I want to thank Hope for North Texas, Cross Timbers Community Church and the host of volunteers involved in this project. Your dedication to your faith and your hearts full of love made this possible. As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord and we will stay involved in doing the right thing.
To all my new Hope for North Texas friends and those that I have yet to meet. Keep up the good work.
There’s a song that says “Greater things are still to come and greater things are yet to be done”, I believe that and I can’t wait to see in happen. If you have not yet gotten involved now is the time.
God bless you all,
Bob Adams
